I was certified as a Reiki Master in the Usui System of Natural Healing in May of 1999; I was also certified to teach Japanese Reiki Techniques by Frank Arjava Petter, author of several books on Reiki, in May of 2000. Then one day one of my students told me about a Reiki Master, named Tadao Yamaguchi, who was coming to Seattle from Japan to teach the original Reiki and that this would be the first time it was ever taught outside of Japan. So I signed up for the class right away. After this two and half day workshop I was certified in Jikiden Reiki for the Okuden and Shoden Degrees which are equivalent to the 1st and 2nd Degrees in Usui Reiki, in August of 2005. Jikiden means direct or original Reiki. Yamaguchi, sensei was given the Reiki Master Degree by his mother Chiyoko Yamaguchi, sensei who had been given the Reiki Master Degree by Chujiro Hayashi who had been given the Reiki Master Degree by Mikao Usui, the originator of the original Reiki in Japan.
I have been teaching Reiki for many years and love sharing Reiki and Reiki sessions with others.
